Nashville-based Red -- made up of Michael Barnes (vocals), Anthony Armstrong (guitar) Randy Armstrong (bass), and Joe Rickard (drums) -- received its second career nomination in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category for its sophomore Innocence & Instinct which released Feb 10, 2009. Its first nomination was for the June 6, 2006 release End of Silence in the same category.

Innocence & Instinct, released with more than 40,000 in first week sales and climbed its way to the Top 5 on iTunes Top Albums chart. GRAMMY ballots for the final round of voting will be mailed on Dec. 16 to the voting members of The Recording Academy. They are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by Jan. 8, 2010, when they will be tabulated and the results kept secret until the telecast.

The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on “GRAMMY Sunday,” Jan. 31, 2010, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
